2015 ADDY Awards


    SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The best advertising created in the Michiana area in 2014 was recognized at the annual ADDY Advertising Awards Gala at the Morris Performing Arts Center in downtown South Bend recently. The event was sponosred by AAF Michiana, local chapter of the American Advertising Federation.

    Best of Show overall went to DeBartolo Performing Arts Center for Art + Soul of Notre Dame: Diavolo feature. Villing & Company won Best of Show print for a poster done for the South Bend Civic Theatre, and Todd Allen Design won Best of Show electronic for the Play Juno piece done for Jones Musical Products.

    Winning the Student Best of Show ADDY was Agency 429 for Warby Parker Print Ad done for Purdue University Calumet.

    Thom Villing, President of Villing & Company, received the 2015 Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his 33 years of service to the Michiana marketing and communications community. 

    Todd Allen Design won seven awards, including a Gold ADDY for a Sixinch Trade Show Display and a Silver ADDY for a Sixinch Trade Show Campaign done for Weiland Designs. The agency also won a Bronze ADDY for Sixinch posters, a Bronze ADDY for Survivorship Web Video done for IU Health Goshen Center for Cancer Care and a Bronze ADDY for Sixinch photography done for Weiland Designs.

    Villing & Company walked away with a total of six awards which include a Gold ADDY for the Snite Museum of Art Awareness Campaign and a Silver ADDY for an Entegra Coach brochure. Villing also won a Silver ADDY for a St. Vincent De Paul Irish Gear Print Ad and a Silver ADDY for a Kreis Enderle Attorneys at Law ad campaign. 

    In addition to winning the Best of Show, the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center won a Gold ADDY for the Decade of the Arts: DeBartolo Performing Arts Center Anniversary Book design and a Silver ADDY for photography done for its Presenting Series.

    Beacon Health System won a Silver ADDY for its Sunburst Races The Coffee Run video. Beacon also won two Bronze ADDYs, one for its Be a Beacon sales promotion and one for its Annual Report.

    Burkhart Advertising won a Silver ADDY for its Sorg Jewelers billboard, and a Bronze ADDY for its Potawatomi Zoo outdoor campaign.

    Organizations winning single awards include the University of Notre Dame Multimedia Department, which won a Gold ADDY for its :30 second national TV spot, The Mind, and LA Porte Savings Bank took a Silver ADDY for its Mortgages Made Simple integrated campaign. ASA Electronics won a Bronze ADDY for its Harley Davidson Riders fourcolor ad series, and FiveCore Media won a Bronze ADDY for its Good of Goshen video campaign done for the City of Goshen, Goshen Community Schools, Goshen College and Goshen Chamber of Commerce.

    The Chicago-based judges for the ADDY contest were Fletcher Martin of A5 Branding & Interactive, Al Wyatt of Jet Pack, Jim Myers of SimonsMyers, Mark Brucker of Ogilvy & Mather, and Rich Black from Downtown Partners.

    The Chairman of the 2015 ADDY Awards was WVPE's Tom Labuzienski and the President of the Michiana Ad Club is Matt Harlow from FathomWorks.
